Eversheds Sutherland’s Africa Group has recently announced a number of new leadership roles for John Kemkers (Head of the Africa Group), Wesley Pydiamah (Deputy Head of the Africa Group) and Farès Koussay El Heni (Deputy Head of the Africa Group in Paris).

In line with the firm’s Africa strategy, the leadership team will be supported by Michelle Davies, International Head of Clean Energy and Sustainability for Clean Energy and Sustainability projects and transactions. Clint Dempsey and Ghjuvana Luigi will lead for Anglophone and Francophone mandates respectively, supported by Warren Beech and Nicholas Veltman based in our Johannesburg office.

Clint and Ghjuvana’s team advises across the entire energy transition in Africa including storage, EV, energy efficiency, distributed energy and all renewable technologies including onshore wind, biomass, solar, hydro and biofuels. They work with Eversheds Sutherland’s Africa Alliance (ESAA) firms in over 35 countries in Africa.

Together with our colleague Caroline Clapham, Ghjuvana is hosting a breakfast briefing on 4 December 2019 in Paris with a focus on renewables for mining which will explain how and why the mining sector is looking to renewables as a power solution, and the relating opportunity and challenges.
