Tunisia: Renewable energy projects update
The 500 MW PV contracts awards
We understand that the Ministry will issue the official results within the next week. We have further insight into the tender process. Please get in touch if you would like to hear more.
The 300 MW wind tender (where land is provided by the Government)
There is no update on the status of these projects. We will provide an update as soon as we hear more.
The 2 x 100 MW wind tender (where land is sourced by developers)
There are reports that the Ministry may cancel the 2 x 100 MW wind prequalification process and launch a new tender with a lower capacity (between 60 and 80 MW projects). According to these reports, the Ministry may:
• Launch a completely new RFQ such that the developers who submitted last November will need to submit again if they decide to proceed; or
• Update the original 2 x 100 MW RFQ and invite the developers who have already submitted to update their prequalification files.

The submission deadline of the technical and financial offers is on Wednesday 30 October 2019 at 09:00 a.m. (Tunis time).
Extension of the submission deadline for STEG International Call for Tenders N°2019-E-4021
STEG has extended the submission deadline from 11 September to 16 October 2019 at 09:00 a.m. (Tunis time) for the International Call for Tender N°2019-E-4021 related to the equipment and construction of HV overhead lines and conventional HV substations extensions for the connection of PV power plants to be built under a concession regime.
