Mr Justice McDonald delivered a landmark decision in favour of policyholders on 5 February 2021, in four test cases brought by publicans against FBD Insurance plc that will afford clarity and set a benchmark to those seeking indemnity for business interruption as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and also to insurers and reinsurers.
