Digital infrastructure lawyers

Our lawyers have an in-depth understanding of the network infrastructures and architectures of key existing and emerging technologies.. We represent companies of all sizes, from promising start-ups to established domestic and international companies. We also advise the institutional, venture capital, private equity and individual investors and lenders who invest in, buy, sell and finance digital infrastructure assets.

  • We focus on industry-specific work, covering commercial network/service arrangements, infrastructure projects and the provision of regulatory advice (both in the UK and internationally). The team regularly advises in relation to the broad range of technologies deployed including fixed, wireless, sub-sea cable, satellite and data centres.
  • With years of experience advising on digital infrastructure law, our clients include Apple Corps, ARM, ByteDance, Cisco, Comcast, Cox Communications, CyrusOne, Facebook, Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Paramount Pictures and Ricoh.

Telecommunications, fibers and data center lawyers

Eversheds Sutherland is one of only a handful of law firms with comprehensive experience in telecommunications. Our team has a significant understanding of network infrastructure and architecture, and a working knowledge of the key existing and emerging technologies.

Current clients of the group include public network operators, service providers, equipment and infrastructure vendors and large-scale users of networks, systems and services. Many of our lawyers have spent time in-house working for suppliers, including at Cisco, HP and Skype, and are well versed and experienced in global contracting.

There is no doubt that the global data center market is thriving and it is estimated to reach revenues of around US$174 billion by 2023. Currently, 67% of businesses opt for multi-cloud services to an outsourced data center as opposed to in-house servers and this is set to grow.

Our team of advisors are fully immersed in the sector, not only understanding the legal issues but also  having a deep understanding of the data center market across multi-jurisdictions. For decades, we have advised data center developers, owners, operators, financiers and customers on all matters associated with data centers, including enterprise, wholesale, co-location and managed services facilities.
