Eversheds strengthens its Litigation practice with significant new Partner hire

    Law firm Eversheds has announced the appointment of Sophie Scemla who has joined the firm to lead the corporate crime team in Paris.

    A specialist in corporate and economic crime, anti-bribery and fraud investigations, Sophie’s expertise lies in international, banking and financial litigation. She will provide clients with financial compliance and criminal fraud advice, assisting them with national and international litigation.

    Sophie has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1997 and a member of the New York Bar since 2001. She holds a post-graduate degree in private law, a post-graduate degree in industrial property and a LL.M. in comparative law. Before joining Eversheds, Sophie was a partner at Heenan Paris. She was also Partner at Orrick Rambaud Martel, was Of Counsel at Ayache Salama, and held associate positions at Danet & Assoiés and Rambaud Martel.

    Marine Gourlet also joins the litigation team as Associate. Marine has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2014. She holds a Master’s degree in international commercial law and a LL.M. in international litigation and arbitration. Marine has previously worked at law firms Heenan Paris, Betto Seraglini and Simmons & Simmons LLP.
