Eversheds Sutherland advises GuarantCo to boost infrastructure development in West Africa

Eversheds Sutherland’s finance team in Paris advised GuarantCo, part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group, on the issuance of a five-year XOF 10 billion (c. USD 15 million) portfolio guarantee in favour of Orabank Côte d'Ivoire in order to enable Orabank Côte d'Ivoire to grow its infrastructure related portfolio. This portfolio guarantee will help Orabank achieve capital relief, increase their lending capacity, and comply with single obligor limits, with the expectation that this transaction will also be replicated for other lenders and enable new financings of projects in the region.

Eversheds Sutherland's finance team in Paris previously advised GuarantCo on a first transaction with Oragroup in January 2022 on the issuance of a XOF 14.55 billion (c. USD 25 million) portfolio guarantee to Orabank Togo (an Oragroup subsidiary).

The team was led by Sindhura Swaminathan, Partner and Head of Finance, Paris, supported by Edmond Percheron, Associate, Paris.
