Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce the release of BreachLawWATCH, a unique mobile app that provides easy, consistent access to data breach statutes across the United States and a growing number of jurisdictions, including Europe and Asia.

Easy-to-use functionality enables users to find specific and relevant state and global breach notification regulations at their fingertips. More specifically, the app is sorted by jurisdiction and includes various categories such as notification requirements, definitions of personal information and breach of security, and timeframes for notification.

Michael Bahar, US Partner and Co-Leader of the Eversheds Sutherland global Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice, commented:

“Since data breaches of various severity are increasingly becoming an issue, and with the regulatory environment growing in complexity all the time, our goal was to develop an app with information our clients and companies can readily access through one click of a button, even when corporate systems fail.”

Paula Barrett, UK Partner and Co-Leader of the Eversheds Sutherland global Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice, added:

“With data being created across all industries at a faster rate than ever before, and with the development of unprecedented ways to collect and use information growing, the issue of data privacy and cybersecurity has never been higher on the agenda.”

The BreachLawWATCH app is the latest in a series of innovative communications from Eversheds Sutherland’s global Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice, following in the footsteps of the launch of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) hub, various webcasts and videocasts on hot topics such as how to handle a hack, and the popular Cybersecurity and Privacy Insights blog. The Eversheds Sutherland Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice consists of more than 100 attorneys across 25 offices around the world.

The Eversheds Sutherland BreachLawWATCH app is available for free download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
