Eversheds comment: Stronger energy links with Qatar a win-win for all parties

  • Qatar

Commenting as Britain attempts to secure new long-term deals to import Qatari gas to the UK, Dani Kabbani, partner at global law firm Eversheds, says:

“Forging longer-term links with Qatar is politically and operationally expedient for the UK. Furthermore, any deal would give Qatar greater optional access to European gas terminals with minimal associated commitment. Several European players have capacity within their terminals at present, so stronger links with Qatar would see increased volumes flowing. Ultimately, any long-term deals that can be struck would be a win-win for all parties.”
