Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that Pamela Thompson, Co-global Chair, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of an independent taskforce, led by the City of London Corporation.

Commissioned by the HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the taskforce aims to boost socio-economic diversity at senior levels across the UK’s financial and professional services sectors.

The Taskforce’s mission is to challenge the lack of career progression for those coming from non-professional backgrounds and to explore the intersections with other protected characteristics, including gender and race.

Pamela’s role within the Advisory Board will include:

    • Informing - shaping the taskforce’s work
    • Influencing - raising awareness of the need to address socio-economic diversity and showcasing case studies of lived experiences
    • Improving - boosting socio-economic diversity at senior levels within Eversheds Sutherland and beyond

    Pamela Thompson commented:

“I am extremely honoured to have been appointed to the Advisory Board and am committed to championing diversity, inclusivity and social mobility, at all levels, within the firm and across the wider sector. We are seeing businesses taking positive steps towards improving social mobility, with many now challenging the status quo and putting diversity at the top of the agenda.

“At Eversheds Sutherland, we foster a diverse and inclusive culture that allows us to unlock a wider pool of talent and places value in the differences of thought. Although we are making progress, we still have a long way to go and must keep working hard to pave the way for generations to come.”
