Eversheds comment: Buoyant UK's West End becoming Monaco on the Piccadilly line
- United Kingdom
12-08-2014
Commenting on news that Norway's sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest, has bought a stake in an estate in London’s Mayfair district, Bruce Dear, head of London real estate at law firm Eversheds, says:
"This deal is another vital sign of the health of the West End.
"It is rapidly becoming Monaco on the Piccadilly Line: every global investor of significance wants a holding there - preferably a very long term one.
"The West End isn't really part of the UK anymore; it's part of Global Wealth Land. Norges know this. They are here to stay."
