Eversheds comment: Autumn Statement: Infrastructure spending is the economy's energy drink

Commenting on today's Autumn Statement, Bruce Dear, head of London real estate at Eversheds, says:

“Only long-term infrastructure spending works. You can’t build a connected country in a year. So the chancellor’s aspiration for infrastructure investment of between 1% and 1.2% annually from 2020 is sensible. Every infrastructure £1 invested generates £3 of economic growth. Infrastructure spending is the economy’s energy drink.”
