Eversheds win top honours for work on The Shard of Glass in London

The Eversheds real estate team was named Property Team of the Year at this year's British Legal Awards.  The team won the award, jointly with Ashurst, for its work on the £1.5 billion development of London Bridge Quarter. The development includes the Shard  which at 310m is not only London's tallest building, but also currently the tallest in Western Europe. The Eversheds team, led by partner Nick Bartlett, advised the Qatari-led development consortium LBQ Limited, the debt and equity investors. The Shard, together with the 17 storey neighbouring building The Place, makes up the 1.5 million square feet of mixed-use space known as London Bridge Quarter. The new commercial district is located at one of London's most significant transport interchanges and will transform and upgrade London Bridge station and the surrounding area.

Earlier this year Head of Real Estate Investment Nick Bartlett was named The Times Lawyer of the Week in recognition of his work on The Shard.

Eversheds international real estate guide gives a legal overview of managing real estate on a country-by-country basis across Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
