Lawyers (Rechtsanwälte) are subject to the professional regulations set forth in the Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung, BRAO), the German Lawyers' Remuneration Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz, RVG), the German Lawyers' Rules of Professional Practice (Berufsordnung, BORA), the German Specialist Lawyers' Rules of Professional Practice (Fachanwaltsordnung, FAO), the law regulating the activity of European lawyers in Germany (EuRAG), the Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Community (CCBE Code of Conduct) as well as in the law implementing the directives of the European Community pertaining to the professional law regulating the legal profession. Notaries: The relevant professional regulations are the German Federal Notarial Code (Bundesnotarordnung, BNotO), the German Notarisation Act (Beurkundungsgesetz, BeurkG), the guidelines of the notary chambers, the Professional Regulations for Notaries (Dienstordnung für Notare, DONot), the Fee Schedule (Kostenordnung, KostO) as well as the European Code of Professional Rules of Conduct for Notaries.
