Geraldine is the managing partner of the Abu Dhabi office and she heads up the commercial practice and the employment, labor and pensions practice, across the Middle East. Geraldine’s practice encompasses commercial, employment and immigration.

Geraldine is highly experienced in international commercial agreements and employment arrangements. She has experience in drafting a range of international commercial agreements with particular experience of technology, distribution, franchising and agency related issues and working for global private sector companies as well as government organisations. Example of recent experience include: advising the Abu Dhabi government on various contractual matters, including drafting key strategic agreements; advising on a software and hardware infrastructure project for a large Islamic bank, including drafting and negotiating the contract terms; project managing cross jurisdictional franchising arrangements and providing local law and strategic advice for large US corporations; acting for a major US IT company on their negotiations with a body of the Dubai government; acting for a leading FTSE 100 company on the range of their Middle East interests including drafting their standard terms and conditions and providing commercial advice on specific issues such as product liability; drafting commercial agreements for a high profile arrangement between two well known Abu Dhabi local companies.

Geraldine advises on employment contracts, as well as advising on a broad range of international labour law issues. Geraldine’s recent experience includes: reviewing and commenting on employment handbooks for international and local companies; advising on appointments and exits at all levels, including executive levels; providing advice on company restructuring and redundancies; acting for senior executives in their exit discussions and contracts; liaising on a frequent basis with Ministry of Labour and the free zone authorities on employment related matters.

Geraldine represents clients in commercial negotiations and acts as an extension of ‘in-house legal counsel’ where required.
