Warren Beech, a Partner, and Head of Mining, based in our Johannesburg office has been practicing for over twenty years, during which time he has developed a highly recognised and specialised practice in relation to the mining, natural resources, infrastructure and projects sectors.

Warren provides multi-disciplinary legal and related services, primarily to the mining, natural resources, infrastructure and project sectors which includes health, safety, and the environment, anti-bribery and corruption / human rights, fair employment practices, community and social aspects, Black Economic Empowerment and transformation, interaction with government / regulatory bodies, corporate and commercial, criminal and employment, as well as training, auditing and compliance.

Warren consults locally and internationally, and has represented mining and non-mining companies in more than 2000 fatal inquiries and inquests arising out of workplace incidents and accidents. Warren and his team have most recently conducted global compliance audits (including in eight African jurisdictions) for major global companies who operate in the highly complex mining and natural resources sector, renewable energy companies, agriculture, fast moving consumer goods, and telecommunications.

Recognised or his contribution to the mining and natural resources sector by several industry bodies, including association affiliated to the Minerals Council (previously the Chamber of Mines) he has participated in various industry-specific bodies on developments, including legislative amendments, at the request of the regulators.

Warren is a frequent speaker at local and internal seminars and conferences.
