Practice notes

Alberto Dorrego is a partner in our Public Law Practice Group.

He focuses his practice in Public and Administrative Law. He emphasizes his experience in the fields of public procurement, infrastructures and public services, concessions and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). Also, is a recognized specialist in transport and pharma and health sector regulation. He has an extensive experience in complex litigation in Public Law cases at Administrative Courts, the Supreme Court of Spain and Constitutional Court.

He has served as Parliamentary Lawyer (Letrado de las Cortes Generales) over 20 years, advising various Legislative Committees at the Congress of Deputies and Senate of Spain. He has been Deputy Secretary-General of the Congress of Deputies of Spain and Director General at the Ministry of Justice (2000-2004) and Deputy Secretary-General of the Congress of Deputies (2004-2005).

Alberto Dorrego is currently Member of the General Commission of Legislation (Public Law Section) of the Spanish Ministry of Justice and President of the Administrative Law Section of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM). He is also Vice- President of the Spanish Chamber of Concessionaires of Infrastructures and Public Services (CCIES), Chairman of the Public Procurement Arbitration Court of Spain (TACOP) and correspondent Member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Law.

He is author of many monographs and articles regarding Administrative Law, particularly in public procurement concessions and PPP, and is a regular speaker at business schools, universities, think thanks and specialized professional forums.

He is a recognized Lawyer by Chambers & Partners directory in Public Law (Band 2).
