David is a principal associate in our Construction & Engineering group specialising in transactional and

development work and project advisory services for a broad range of both private and public sector clients.

With a principal focus on the built environment and urban redevelopment, David has extensive experience advising employers (both private and public sector), developers, and investors on development and infrastructure projects, including major sports infrastructure, commercial and industrial assets, high-end residential, build-to-rent PRS and mixed-use developments.

He advises on all construction issues from the inception of projects, through delivery, to operational maintenance, including in relation to procurement strategy and preparation of the full range of construction documentation. David also works closely with our Corporate, Real Estate, Tax, and Financial Services groups advising on construction issues in connection with purchases, acquisitions and development financing and associated due diligence.

Highlights of his recent experience include:

• Acting for a major global tech firm as lead counsel on their expansion and fit-out of office and tech hubs across the UK and EMEA;
• Advising on the procurement and delivery of maintenance, refurbishment and redevelopment projects in relation to a £6bn high-end, mixed-use property portfolio in the West End for a Middle Eastern investor;
• Acting on the stadium redevelopment for a leading Premiership football club, advising on procurement strategy and full suite of construction documentation for the project;
• Acting as lead construction counsel on build-to-rent PRS developments schemes across the UK for various investor and developer clients with a combined value in excess of £800m; and
• Advising on the construction procurement aspects of the restructuring and remobilisation of a PFI Hospital development project following the insolvency of Carillion Plc.

David also frequently delivers training to clients on a broad range of construction and development matters.
