Practice notes

Eve England is a Partner in our commercial group and is a member of our Financial Institutions Group and our Consumer Law Group. She specialises in technology and commercial contracts and consumer protection law, advising clients in the Financial Services (“FS”), Retail and Education sectors on each of these areas. She is a founding member of the Eversheds Sutherland digital FS and Fintech group, which was recently ranked as a Tier 1 UK firm in the Legal 500 directory.

  • Eve has been advising clients on digital and technology propositions throughout her career.
  • Eve has undertaken secondments with a leading Qatar energy provider, and two UK financial services institutions with a particular emphasis on acting as a “key control function” within these businesses on a range of technology contracts and product propositions, as well as advising on a number of strategic technology re-organisations and cloud contracts.
  • Eve leads a specialist team of commercial lawyers advising in connection with the acquisition of start-up and disruptive financial tech businesses by private equity houses, with a focus on the technology contracting and customer facing processes. As part of these transactions, Eve provides strategic advice on critical licensing arrangements and business model structures, as well as drafting and negotiating new commercial arrangements to facilitate post completion activities.
  • Eve has unique experience within the firm in advising many household names and global businesses on consumer law matters.
    As part of her role, Eve has significant expertise in advising clients in connection with the launch of new customer propositions (both consumer and businesses), particularly on new digital offerings, including advising on the commercial contracts underpinning those solutions as well as the customer journey and legal proposition.
  • Eve advises financial institutions on regulatory compliance obligations that apply to material outsourcing projects, including strategic IT services and back and middle office arrangements entered into by Asset Managers.
  • Eve advises education clients on their relationships with students, and third party providers, and has particular expertise in drafting student facing collateral for both student contracts and accommodation contracts.
  • Eve was named in the Top 35 under 35 businesswomen in Wales 2016 and has been ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers legal directories for many years.
