Practice notes

Lisa is a Senior Associate in the EHS team of our Litigation and Dispute Management Group. She specialises in the defence of corporate and individual clients facing investigation and prosecution by regulators including the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency, the Police, the Care Quality Commission and Local Authorities.

Her recent experience includes: advising an individual accused of gross negligence manslaughter and health and safety offences following the Didcot Power Station collapse; advising a food manufacturer following the death of a contractor resulting from a fall from height; assisting a transmission and distribution company with a complex internal investigation following an electrical explosion; advising a logistics company prosecuted by the HSE following a fatality at a port; successfully defending a care provider at trial following the suicide of an elderly service user; advising a charity in the care sector during a CQC prosecution following inadequate use of bed rails; assisting core participants in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry with the ongoing police investigation - advising employees attending police witness interviews; advising a gas distribution company following health and safety incidents including fatalities caused by gas explosions; and representing clients at interviews under caution following suspected breaches of environmental and health and safety legislation.

Lisa has written articles on the application of health and safety law and has delivered training to a variety of audiences on topics including Incident Investigation and Crisis Management, Contractor Management and Coroner's Inquests.
