Practice notes

Lizzie Field is a Principal Associate in the Human Resources Practice Group specialising in employment and immigration law. She qualified as a solicitor in September 2008. She undertakes a broad range of work, split between contentious and non-contentious employment work.

Lizzie's contentious experience includes acting for defendants in Employment Tribunal claims for unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal and breach of contract, unlawful deductions from wages and complex discrimination and high value whistle-blowing claims.

Lizzie's non-contentious experience includes advising on the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, outsourcings and real estate transactions, severances, bonus issues, restrictive covenants and disciplinary and grievance issues. She advises on and prepares contractual documentation, staff handbooks and procedures and has also assisted clients with redundancies and to implement changes to terms and conditions of employment. She regularly works on international projects, in both a project management and advisory capacity. She assists UK and overseas clients with employment issues in the UK as well as project managing and co-ordinating advice across a wide range of jurisdictions. She has particular expertise and experience co-ordinating advice and providing strategic advice on international outsourcings.

Lizzie is the co-editor of "Employment Law in Europe" for which she also wrote the England and Wales chapter (Bloomsbury Professional, 2013).

Lizzie is also a member of the Eversheds Immigration Team advising on all aspects of business immigration and global mobility including recruitment of migrant workers, right to work checks and illegal working, sponsorship and visas under the points based system and other immigration categories. She conducts immigration audits for clients and is also authorised to act as a "level 1 user" for clients.
