Practice notes

Natascha is a Senior Associate in our Environment, Health and Safety team and her practice includes corporate criminal work (both prosecution and defence) and regulatory compliance advice. Natascha has developed particular specialisms in water regulatory work, food safety and product liability.

Her most recent experience includes:

  • Leading on prosecutions for water pollution and contamination cases, including successful convictions acting for a water company in Wolverhampton Crown Court.
  • Conducting her own advocacy in prosecuting illegal water fittings cases on behalf of water companies. Advising on the investigation of suspected offences and progressing the matter through the Courts to conviction and successful recovery of costs.
  • Assisting with the post-incident response following the death of a member of the public during Storm Doris in Wolverhampton town centre. This included the initial enforcement and investigation work, as well as taking statements and supporting the client during Coroner’s Inquest.
  • Advising organisations in the food industry on prosecutions brought by the Food Standards Agency and Local Authorities.
  • A broad non-contentious practice focused on product safety and labelling; including the management of large international projects to support product launches.
  • Working on large scale and high profile internal investigations which include; an investigation, conducted at the request of the FCA, by a major financial institution into the mis-selling of financial products and an investigation into claims of extremism within Birmingham.
  • Acting as a Legal Adviser to the Teacher Regulation Agency’s Disciplinary Panel.
