Chris is a senior partner in our Global M&A practice. Chris has extensive experience advising on and project managing a wide range of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, initial public offerings and secondary fundraisings, re-organisations, takeovers, and private equity transactions.
He advises public and private companies of all sizes across a range of sectors, including Industrials, Financial and Business Services, TMT, Transport, Healthcare and Retail. Chris has recently advised DuPont on the $26 billion sale of its Nutrition & Biosciences division to IFF, Apollo-backed Vanta Education on the sale of BPP to TDR Capital, Capita plc on the £888 million sale of its Asset Services division to Link Group, NFI Inc on its acquisition of Alexander Dennis and the shareholders of John Guest on its £690m sale to RWC.
Chris is consistently acknowledged by both the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 directories as being a leading practitioner in his field. Chambers & Partners has commented that he is an "excellent technical lawyer and very good negotiator", that "There is no song and dance with Chris Halliday: he will spot the fine details but also come up with a commercial and practical suggestion." and that he is "noted by sources for his strength in negotiation situations".
