Dr. Matthias Heisse is a partner in the Munich office of Eversheds Sutherland and global head of the firm’s Diversified Industrials Sector Group.

In his practice, Matthias specialises in mergers and acquisitions as well as capital markets transactions. He has experience in numerous national and international company restructurings, financings and reorganizations. His clients include international conglomerates, listed companies as well as financial investors and banks, which he advises in all questions concerning corporate law and, in particular, with regard to annual stockholder meetings. Moreover, Matthias is member of several supervisory boards and arbitrator in disputes concerning capital market and corporate law.

Matthias is recognised as a leading Corporate/M&A lawyer by Best Lawyers in Germany, Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and Germany’s JUVE Handbook. Furthermore he is listed for Corporate Law by Legal 500, both in its Germany and EMEA edition, and recommended for Private Equity by Best Lawyers.

  • Chemtura in its € 2.4bn acquisition by Lanxess
  • DuPont in its US$ 4.9bn disposal of DuPont Performance Coatings to The Carlyle Group 
  • Messe München on its acquisition of CTT in Moscow and its acquisition of a majority in Fenestration China 
  • Tognum AG in its acquisition by Daimler and Rolls-Royce
  • the US Department of Justice as an expert for German law at various US courts
