Practice notes

Nicola is a Legal Director in our Competition, EU and Trade group. She has over 20 years’ experience in the competition field, with a broad based practice, covering investigations, behavioural work and merger control.

She has significant expertise in dominant firm trading and pricing practices, having advised clients in diverse sectors, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, transport and pensions on pricing and distribution strategy for dominant or potentially dominant products.

She also regularly advises clients on the competition aspects of their distribution networks, including pricing questions (resale price maintenance, promotions and discounting), territorial controls, online sales questions, distribution strategies and models, and routes to market.  

Nicola spent time on secondment to the competition department of the Financial Conduct Authority, where she worked on one of the first competition market studies and assisted in preparations for concurrency. She also undertook a long secondment to a client in the automotive sector. She has delivered highly regarded competition compliance training programmes to numerous clients in sectors in particular in the food and consumer goods sectors. She is ranked as “one to watch” in Chambers and recommended in the Legal 500.

Winners of the Global Competition Review award for behavioural matter of the year (Europe). This was for the creative, strategic and innovative work carried out in a non-merger matter before an enforcer in Europe.
