Alexander is a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland in Munich and leads the Banking and Finance team. He has overseen more than 30 capital market transactions of various DAX, MDAX and TecDAX companies, focussing on national and international IPOs, capital increases and mergers. He advises companies on legal matters as well as on various capital market products on an operative level. In the area of outside capital financing, Alexander has furthermore developed and negotiated diverse products for international companies. In the regulatory area, he has overseen various projects regarding regulatory issues in the context of licencing procedures as well as routine and special audits by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). His clients include various banks as well as a number of mainly listed companies from Germany and abroad, often from China.  

Due to his previous experience, which includes operational investment banking as a Senior Vice President with HypoVereinsbank AG, where Alexander headed the technology team of the capital market division, and his previous position as a Director with WestLB, Alexander also has many years of expertise gained in the operational banking business.

"The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa" handbook, 2006 edition, as well as the respective US edition, list Alexander as one of the few capital market specialists working in Munich. In the handbook "European Legal 500", 2004/2005 edition, he was mentioned in the field of capital market law/M&A. According to the handbook, "Heisse Kursawe is known for mid-sized transactions supervised by Dr. Alexander Honrath". In the section "Capital Market Law" of its 2007 and 2008 editions, the "Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa" handbook describes Alexander as an experienced expert for IPOs, capital increases and mergers of listed companies.

In the editions 2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2010/2011 of the JUVE Handbook, Alexander is mentioned as a frequently recommended lawyer, inter alia in the sections "General", "Corporate Law" and "Acquisitions".  JUVE writes: "Clients are full of praise for the combination of high-quality stock corporation law expertise (Dr. Matthias Heisse) and Dr. Alexander Honrath's experience in the area of capital market law." JUVE Rechtsmarkt (legal market), edition December 2009, mentions that "Alexander Honrath's outstanding capital market law expertise is well-known in the market." Alexander also features regularly in the "Banking and Finance" section of the magazine "European Legal Experts", editions 2009 to 2012. He is recommended  for banking and finance law by Best Lawyers.

In the "Kanzleien in Deutschland 2011" handbook (law firms in Germany 2011), he is mentioned as a "renowned expert in banking law". In the handbook "The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa", his Munich-based capital market team is described as the largest team working outside the German financial metropolis Frankfurt. Furthermore, the handbook states that his team has been involved in several high-profile transactions. The Legal 500 handbook for Germany 2012/2013 mentions that Heisse Kursawe Eversheds is regarded as highly recommended for mid-cap ECM advice and that Alexander Honrath is specifically recommended in this context.

Alexander's recent experience includes:
