Practice notes
Alice is a Principal Associate in the Litigation group, specialising in contentious construction and engineering matters.
She advises on all aspects of construction litigation and has experience in alternative dispute resolution proceedings including adjudication and mediation on behalf of both employers and contractors, and more specifically architects, geotechnical experts, surveyors, piling engineers and building contractors. Alice has wide experience of court proceedings, including proceedings in the Court of Appeal.
Alice has been involved in several large scale disputes relating to wind turbines, which included a cross-jurisdictional element. Alice also worked as part of a team defending a contractor at a preliminary issue hearing in Northern Ireland.
In addition to Court proceedings, Alice has been involved in adjudication proceedings on behalf of a number of clients, as well as attending mediations and joint settlement meetings.
More recently, Alice has been involved in providing advice to employer clients in respect of dispute management with contractors, both regarding issues of fact and complex contract interpretation.
Alice also has experience in professional indemnity claims, in particular defending contractors, and is familiar with insurance policy wording and coverage disputes.
