Practice notes

Jonathan's experience covers a broad range of corporate and financial services transactions and structures, most recently:

  • advising clients on fund launches and related issues, including the launch of the Schroder Oriental Income Fund, a closed ended Guernsey investment company, which raised £150m on its launch in July 2005
  • advising on the flotation of the Local Shopping REIT PLC on the London Stock Exchange (the first company to list in order to convert to REIT status);
  • the launch of Jersey funds listed on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange investing in private equity investments and foreign real estate.

Jonathan also advises a number of hedge funds and has advised clients on ISDA agreements and other related derivatives documentation. He has acted on a number of matters for an Icelandic client involving various equity derivative structures. As well as advising on financial services regulatory issues, Jonathan has broad experience of general corporate transactional work, particularly in the financial services sector, and he recently completed the sale of a hedge fund management group for a client. Jonathan also advises on the terms of investment management agreements and recently worked for a major fund management house, drafting documentation to be used for a new liability driven investment product.
