David acts in all aspects of property related disputes including: dilapidations; rent reviews; lease renewals; possession claims; adverse possession; issues relating to the interpretation of contracts; rights of way; nuisance; professional negligence; restrictive covenants and easements; site clearance and land assembly for development.

In addition to his general expertise, David is specialist in disputes arising from commercial or residential property development.

David acts for investors, occupiers, insolvency practitioners, commercial and residential developers, urban regeneration agencies and local government.

His recent experience includes: acting for a major retail bank in its renewal of 850 1954 Act protected leases; obtaining an interim injunction against a land owner and subsequently an order for his committal to prison for contempt of court; advising a government body on its dilapidations liability at their landmark headquarters; and obtaining and enforcing a possession order against protestors in the "Occupy" movement.

David's most recent reported cases are Clarke v Murphy [2009] 22 E.G. 118 (C.S.), Rochdale Canal Company v Jones and Ors (Lawtel 12.01.10(QB), Hexstone Holdings Limited v AHC Westlink Limited [2010] EWHC 1280 and Azure East Midlands Ltd v Manchester Airport Group [2014] EWHC 1644 (TCC).

David regularly delivers training in relation to rights of first refusal under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 and residential service charge regimes.

David was the Manchester Law Society "Associate of the Year" 2011 and is recognised in Chambers and Legal 500.
