Nesrine is an associate in our Infrastructure, Energy and Transport team, specialising in renewable energies, shipping and customs law.

Nesrine is actively involved in the renewable energy sector including regulatory, real estate, grid and other commercial aspects of energy projects and project implementations across all the renewable energy regimes.

Nesrine also has a good practice in both, contentious and non-contentious, shipping, maritime trade, customs regimes and disputes.

Nesrine recent experience (2016-2020) in the renewable energy sector includes:

  • Advising and assisting international developers in land securing for their large-scale renewable energy projects under the concession regime (including negotiations with owners, drafting options and lease agreement, auditing project lands, etc.).
  • Advising on tender project agreements (including PPA and concession agreement).
  • Advising and assisting developers in the preparation and submission of their bids for large and medium projects in (including cross reading and advice on tender documents, assisting on offer drafting, handling international signing and authentication of offer documents, etc,).
  • Advising and assisting international developers in setting up project companies (SPV) for their awarded renewable energy projects.
  • Advising and assisting an international group in bidding in grid upgrade tenders.
  • Advising government entities on self-consumption regime and reviewing regulatory framework in force and providing recommendation to governmental bodies.

Nesrine recent experience (2016-2020) in the shipping and customs sectors includes:

  • Acting for a phosphoric acid producer and shipper in an arbitration claim for damage to a chemical tanker.
  • Acting for an international telecommunication group in customs investigations.
  • Assisting an entertainment company in customs procedures and obtaining customs privileges upon importation of project equipment.
  • Acting for a Turkish shipowner before customs administration and courts to obtain ship release of the ship arrested.
  • Acting before courts for a Turkish steel manufacturer in a commercial dispute.
  • Advising and assisting international groups (predominantly in the industrial sector) on best customs regime to obtain upon project implementation or extension.

Nesrine has also completed a secondment to a major O&G company.
