Dr. Alexander Niethammer is a Partner in the Munich office and Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland Germany.

He has 14 years of experience advising on large commercial and IT/IP transactions for German and international clients. Alex specialises in technology transfer, outsourcing as well as all kinds of distribution systems. He is also a recognized expert for Cybersecurity & Privacy. His clients are mainly from the Diversified Industrial, Life Sciences and Aerospace sector.

He is a member of the German bar and is also admitted to practice law as attorney-at-law in New York (USA).

Alexander has been named Germany's best IT and Internet lawyer at the 2016 ILO/Lexology's Client Choice Awards and is ranked in the Chambers Europe Edition and the 2018 Legal 500 Edition as a Leading Individual. Alexander Niethammer is recommended by Best Lawyers/Handelsblatt and Legal 500 Deutschland for data protection and IT law. In addition, he is recommended by German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche as one of the top lawyers for data protection law in Germany.
