Practice notes

Pim is a seasoned finance and restructuring lawyer and heads up the Dutch finance & restructuring team.

His expertise ranges from advising corporates on their strategic finance and treasury issues, to real estate finance, project finance in the (renewable) energy sector, acquisition finance and restructurings. He has been involved in some of the most prominent financing transactions and restructurings in the Dutch market. He acts for both borrowers/sponsors and lenders.

Selected examples of his recent work:

• Advising several corporates (from AEX-listed to SMEs) on refinancing their global credit facilities, including sustainability-linked loans

• Advising several global corporates on the refinancings, cash pools and other treasury issues

• Advising several prominent debt funds and developers on some of the most prominent real estate finance transactions across the Netherlands, including senior/mezz structures and restructurings

• Advising several prominent developers on financing some of the largest solar farms in the Netherlands

• Advising Dutch and international corporates on restructuring their Dutch operations or any financial or operational distress issues in their supply chains

Pim is admitted to practice law in the Netherlands for over 15 years and is fluent in Dutch and English. In addition to an LLM in Corporate and Financial Law, he benefits from a MSc in Economics (majoring in Finance & Accounting) from Erasmus University Rotterdam. He joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2020 after just shy of 12 years at a tier 1 Dutch law firm, of which 2.5 years in London.

Pim has been recognised as a rising star by Legal 500 and IFRL1000 (multiple editions), with clients praising his practical approach, expertise and responsiveness.
