Wesley Pydiamah is a Partner in our Arbitration department specializing in international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration and public international law matters.

His experience includes dozens of cases where he advised and represented Governments, State-entities and private multinational companies in proceedings before numerous institutional and ad hoc arbitral tribunals (including under ICC, SIAC, PCA, LCIA, DIFC and UNCITRAL Rules). He also has a significant experience in proceedings before the Iran-US Claims Tribunal.

Wesley's regional focus is on Africa and the Middle East, and has also developed a non-contentious expertise on Iranian matters these recent years. He has been advising numerous large multinational companies in relation to sanctions, investment protection and doing business in Iran generally.

Wesley is mentioned in Legal 500 and described as 'a strong advocate and strategist, who shows excellent grasp of the details of a case'. He has been listed by Euromoney’s “Rising Stars 2018” guide as one of the 10 rising stars in commercial arbitration for France. In addition and as part of the Palmarès du Droit, Wesley's team won the bronze award in Arbitration in 2020.

Wesley lectures on OHADA arbitration and disputes in Africa at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. He is a member of several arbitral organisations, is a founding member of AfricArb and serves on the advisory board of the MARC Court, the leading arbitral institution in Mauritius dedicated to resolving Africa-related disputes.

Wesley holds postgraduate degrees in International Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris Ouest Nanterre Universities and is fluent in English and French. He is admitted to the Paris Bar.

Wesley Pydiamah est avocat associé au sein de notre département Arbitrage et intervient sur des dossiers d’arbitrage commercial international, d’arbitrage investissement ainsi que sur des problématiques de droit international public.

Il a conseillé et représenté des Etats, des entités publiques et des multinationales dans des dizaines d’affaires d’arbitrages devant de nombreux tribunaux d’arbitrage aussi bien institutionnels qu’ad hoc (CCI, SIAC, CPA, LCIA, DIFC et CNUDCI). Il a également une expérience significative dans le contentieux devant le Tribunal irano-américain de réclamations.

Wesley se spécialise plus particulièrement dans les dossiers en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient et a développé ces dernières années une expertise non-contentieuse dans des dossiers relatifs à l’Iran. Il a notamment conseillé plusieurs multinationales sur les matières ayant trait aux sanctions et à la protection des investissements.

Wesley est cité dans Legal 500 : pour ses clients c'est un très bon avocat et stratège qui maîtrise parfaitement les détails des dossiers. Il a également été nommé par le guide “Rising Stars 2018” dans le top 10 des meilleurs praticiens dans le domaine de l’arbitrage commercial en France. Dans le cadre du Palmarès du Droit, son équipe s'est vu décerner le trophée bronze en Arbitrage en 2020.

Wesley enseigne l’arbitrage OHADA à l’Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Il est membre de différentes organisations arbitrales, un membre fondateur d’AfricArb et est également membre du Conseil consultatif du Centre d’Arbitrage et de Médiation de la Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de l’Ile Maurice (MCCI), l’institution arbitrale dédiée à la résolution des litiges en relation avec l’Afrique.

Wesley est titulaire de deux Masters en droit international des Universités Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne et Paris Ouest Nanterre. Il est inscrit au Barreau de Paris.
