Craig advises on complex IT and outsourcing arrangements. He has led significant transactions across all sectors but has a particular focus on the financial services, technology and energy sectors.
Craig joined Eversheds in 2015 after 12 years as an in-house lawyer at IBM, Oracle and Indian Outsourcing provider, TCS. In his last role Craig was IBM’s lead counsel for Financial Services in Europe and Head of the FS Regulatory team in EMEA.
Craig advises banks, insurers, payment service providers, pension schemes, hedge funds, investment and asset managers, integrated oil & gas companies and regulated utilities on:
- IT and Business Process outsourcing
- the design / build / run of digital platforms
- complex system integration arrangements
- cloud computing (including PaaS, IaaS and SaaS)
- Blockchain, Crypto, NFTs and Smart Contracts
- Electronic Signatures and e-signing platforms
- Fintech projects, collaborations, acquisitions and investments
- cyber security, business continuity & disaster recovery arrangements
- regulatory requirements for outsourcing and resilience in Financial Services
- the application of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS)
Craig is a key member of Eversheds Sutherland’s global cyber-security practice and advises clients on a range of preventative strategies as well as supporting clients respond to and recover from business-impacting cyber incidents and system outages.
Craig is ranked as a leading individual for Fintech (Legal 500) within the firm’s Tier 1 ranked practice.
He is also the sponsor for the firm’s “Africa Technology Alliance and co-chair of TheCityUK / NIFC policy and regulatory working group for Fintech in Kenya”.
Craig is a member of the Society for Computers and Law and a member of the IAPP. He is a regular speaker on IT Outsourcing, FS regulatory compliance, Cyber Security and Operational Resilience in the Financial Services Sector.
