Practice notes

Hashem is a consultant in our company commercial practice group. He specializes in project finance, cross-border finance and capital markets transactions. Hashem also has experience in restructurings and workouts of complex finance transactions.

His recent experience includes: representing a government finance institution in a multi-million dollar project financing of a hotel in Iraq, including the buy-out and assumption of debt of the original sponsors; representing export credit agencies in a number of project financed power projects in Turkey; and representing the administrative agent, lenders and an export credit agency in the negotiation and restructuring of multi-million dollar project finance credit facilities extended to four cancer care hospitals in the U.S.

Hashem has also written articles on capital markets in the U.S. and has been previously published in the prestigious “Insights: The Corporate and Securities Law Advisor” journal.

Hashem obtained an LL.B. from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s in Law (L.L.M.) degree in International & Comparative Law from The George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C. Hashem then attended IE Business School in Madrid, Spain where he obtained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Hashem is a member of the New York Bar Association.
