Emma is a Senior Associate specializing in all aspects of employment law and business immigration. Emma qualified as a solicitor in March 2010.

Emma's contentious experience includes defending Employment Tribunal claims in all areas of employment law including many claims involving unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, discrimination, equal pay and whistleblowing, and conducting her own advocacy at Tribunal hearings. She also advises on the enforceability of restrictive covenants/confidentiality obligations and senior executive terminations.

In addition, Emma regularly advises on all aspects of non-contentious employment law, including employment policies, service agreements for senior employees and bonus arrangements; the employment aspects of corporate transactions and outsourcings; redundancies and changes to terms and conditions of employment, and the management of international employment law projects including complex cross-jurisdictional restructures/outsourcings. She also provides day to day advice on other aspects of employment law such sickness absence, disciplinary/grievance processes, and family friendly rights. A keen public speaker, Emma regularly delivers client training on a variety of employment law topics.

As a business immigration specialist, Emma advises on matters such as right to work checks, sponsorship issues, visa applications and immigration audits.

Emma has advised clients from a range of sectors including financial services/insurance, professional services, retail, rail, energy and the public sector.

In 2015 Emma spent 9 months on secondment at a major bank, advising on all aspects of employment law, including the overlap with financial services regulation. She has developed a focus on the financial services sector and has recently advised on matters such as the Senior Managers' and Certification Regime.

Emma speaks a high level of French and German and intermediate Spanish. She has spent time on secondment in the firm's Paris office.
