Practice notes
Claire is a Principal Associate Professional Support Lawyer in our Commercial group. She has experience in most forms of commercial contracts, as well as experience as a banking and corporate lawyer. For Eversheds Sutherland, Claire ensures commercial legal advisers are fully trained and up to date with relevant legal developments, creating both client and internal bulletins and precedents, client products and internal materials as well as undertaking specific projects to improve quality and efficiency in delivery of legal services and to add value for key clients. She is one of the commercial leads on Brexit and created the firm's Brexit contract review analysis product and presents on Brexit as well as other topics both internally and externally.
Claire trained in the City of London, qualifying as a finance lawyer. A stint on the trading floor of an investment bank, advising on bonds, warrants and derivatives was followed by a move into professional support for a regional firm. For 13 years she provided precedent, know how and training support for that firm across the full spectrum of banking, commercial, corporate and restructuring and is an experienced designer and deliverer of training both internally and for clients. Prior to moving to Eversheds Sutherland, Claire returned to transactional work and, with a colleague, set up a new company commercial boutique unit in an existing law firm, building up a client base of national businesses, private equity investors and charities as well as undertaking conflict work for larger law firms.
