Practice notes
Sarah is a partner in our London pensions team. Sarah advises on all aspects of pensions law. Sarah is familiar with advising both pension scheme trustees and employers on pension issues: recent work includes advising trustees on the implications of corporate restructurings, advising trustees on closures to future accrual, advising companies on age discrimination issues and options for de-risking.
Sarah has worked closely with other teams within Eversheds to provide pensions advice, including the pension litigation team, the tax team (in relation to VAT and pensions) as well as corporate and banking teams (on restructurings and in relation to pension scheme guarantees).
Sarah also has considerable experience of advising on corporate reorganisations, re-financings and sales and acquisitions, including interaction with the UK Pensions Regulator.
Sarah is a regular speaker at external and internal events (including the Butterworths Lexis Nexis conferences on pensions law). Sarah spent four years as an elected member of the Association of Pension Lawyers’ Legislative and Parliamentary Committee. This is a body comprised of lawyers from the key pension law firms who meet once a month to review and comment on proposed new legislation. This role gave Sarah useful insight into developing legal changes as well as the ability to seek to shape the law.
