Practice notes
Katie is a Principal Associate in our Financial Services team. She advises clients on a wide range of regulatory and compliance issues relating to authorised funds under the FCA rules. Recent experience includes advising clients on how to comply with UCITS V, MiFID II and the outcomes of the FCA’s Asset Management Market Study. She also advises on the authorisation of new funds (including the new ACS structures), variations to existing fund specifications, mergers, re-constructions and fund terminations. She also has experience of corporate transactions in the financial services sector.
Katie has been on secondment to a global asset manager. There she assisted with their application to the FCA for authorisation under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and a subsequent business re-organisation in order to comply with the requirements of the AIFMD. Katie has also been on client secondment to the retail arm of a large multinational bank, where she undertook contentious work.
Katie graduated from the University of Warwick in 2009 with an LLB in Law, she then completed the Legal Practice Course at Oxford. She trained with Eversheds and qualified in September 2012.
