Manaf Triqui leads the Debt Capital Markets practice within the Banking & Finance department of Eversheds Sutherland in Paris. He advises issuers (corporates, financial institutions, investment funds, Fintechs and start-ups), arrangers and investors in connection with debt transactions such as Eurobonds, Euro Private Placements (Euro PP), sustainability and sustainability-linked bonds, project bonds, corporate hybrids, establishment and update of EMTN programmes, French commercial paper and liability management.

He also advises borrowers and lenders in connection with international and domestic banking and finance transactions.

Manaf has practiced law for several years in top-Tier international law firms in Paris before joining Eversheds Sutherland in 2022. Manaf is also a lecturer in Contract Law at Financia Business School.

Manaf participated in the Euro PP (Euro Private Placement) working group composed by several professional organizations under the leadership of Banque de France, the French Treasury and the Paris IDF Chamber of Commerce and Industry, designed to facilitate financing for intermediate-size enterprises (ISE) and SMEs and to define a more harmonized legal framework for Euro PP transactions.

He also took an active part in the documentation working group in charge of the establishment of the Euro PP Charter and the standard documentation for both Euro PP loan and bond transactions.

Manaf is recognised by his peers and clients in legal rankings including in the Legal 500 France and EMEA in the Debt Capital Markets category.

Manaf has acted on a number of major DCM transactions, including:

  • Advising the investors and the arranger in connection with a 140,000,000€ senior secured “IMPACT” bond issuance (pari passu with a loan financing) by Lumibird
  • Advising the investors and the arranger in connection with a 152,000,000€ senior secured “IMPACT” bond issuance (pari passu with a loan financing) by Magellan.
  • Advising the investors and the arranger in connection with the first “IMPACT” Euro PP bond in France, for a global amount of 50,000,000€ by Groupe Bertrand, subscribed by Eiffel Impact Debt (among other underwriters), first impact debt fund in France.
  • Advising the investors and the placement agent in connection with bond issuances by Bertrand Corp for a global aggregate amount of 200,000,000€, listed on Euronext Access.
  • Advising the investors in connection with several bond issuances by HLD Europe for a global amount of 300,000,000€, listed on Euronext Access and the Luxembourg Euro MTF.
  • Advising several Fintechs (ARIA, KARMEN, DEFACTO, etc.) in connection with their secured bond issues.
