Axel is a Partner in Eversheds Sutherland’s Munich office and a member of the firm’s IP (intellectual property) practice group. Specially certified for sports law, he also heads the German Entertainment, Media & Sports team.

For more than 25 years, Axel has specialized in intellectual property, commercial, media and sports law and mainly advises companies and individuals with a holistic and strategic approach, both in and out of court. His activities include the drafting of all relevant agreements, solving and structuring of complex issues as well as the conduct of complex cases. Axel is a member of several controlling bodies of business enterprises, has been acting as a lecturer on different specialist topics for many years and publishes his work.

Among his longstanding national and international clients are commercial enterprises, manufacturers of consumer and luxury goods, media companies, advertising agencies, technology companies, but also sporting goods manufacturers, sports organisations as well as longstanding private clients.

Axel is recommended for intellectual property (since over 15 years) by JUVE Handbook and Legal 500 Germany. He is recommended for copyright law by Wirtschaftswoche and for media law by Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers (2019, 2020, 2021).
