Practice notes

Meaghan is an Associate in the International Arbitration group in Singapore. She handles a broad range of legal work, from corporate and advisory work to dispute management and settlement.

Her recent experience includes assisting in the transaction of a construction company. The work involved included due diligence reports, negotiation, and drafting. Other recent experience includes assisting in construction related litigation, property litigation with complex trust issues, and trust related arbitration.

Meaghan's experience with both advisory/ corporate services and dispute settlement has enabled her to be more effective in both types of work. In drafting contracts or providing advice, her experience in dispute settlement allows her to pre-empt common issues that may potentially arise. She uses this experience in her contract drafting and advice to put her clients in a position that would be useful in the event of a dispute in the future. Her experience with advisory/ corporate services enables her to better understand the commercial realities of corporate clients. This enables her to aim to settle disputes in a holistic manner.

Meaghan is involved with several coding-related pro bono projects and initiatives. She is also comfortable with international clients and cases, due to her many international experiences, such as competitive mooting, debating, negotiation and mediation, and an externship with the Supreme Court of Arizona and the Court of Appeals of Arizona.
